Who are we going to compare him to though? Trevor Berbick? Ali and Louis are the benchmarks that all Heavies are judged against.

For all his faults & limitations, the man's chin was incredible. On record never knocked down, in 67 pro fights, and a brief amatuer career.

He also could punch. But his troubles outside the ring aswell as his sub par boxing skills let him down.

Amazing to think he's still in the HW mix today, and there's talk of a title shot.

If you're talking about right now, Povetkin and Adamek are better. Even JC Gomez beat him handily.

Ok, sorry. But I still would probably pick Povetkin to beat Adamek.

McCall was fortunate to have a Don King ref hand him a title.

Ali was hurt worse against Cooper, Dempsey was knocked out of a damn ring by Firpo. If one of the refs from the olden days were present, McCall would be just another footnote like those guys.

Lewis was gone. He wobbled into the referee, eyes glazed like a drunk, & even looked in a stupor as he held his arms wide in protest.

Maybe you could argue he could've gone on --- maybe --- but your contention it was hands-down BS to stop the bout is just ho-hum Lewis love.

Its not right for a 25-0 champion, who has never been knocked down, to be denied a shot at redemption. If Lennox was man enough to beat the count he should have at least been given the chance. This wasnt Tyson scrambling about for a mouth piece, Lennox was up and there are at least a half dozen ways he couldve gotten his legs back.

Lewis was not ready to fight by the time the referee counted 10 he was falling about and if allowed to continue McCall would have been on him in seconds and most likely ended Lewis career before the round was over as there was over two-and-a-half-seconds left of the round.. McCall could **** that there is no doubt about and Lewis would have gotten another right hand
