Floyd's not jab-reliant, although I think some of you are selling him short on technical prowess. His hooking nature ends up busting Norton's ribs and dropping his hands enough to take plenty of damage. Floyd could outpoint him too, no doubt in my mind, prime for prime.

Patterson would win imo. If you fought from a distance and jabbed like Ali, Norton could come in and give you problems. If you back Norton up, that's it. While Floyd doesn't necessarily have one punch KO power, he hits hard and is very fast with the hand speed and the peekaboo style. Norton's style isn't good for up close and personal slugging, especially against a fighter with the speed of Patterson and the all around boxing ability. Muhammad Ali even said that Floyd Patterson was the most skilled "boxer" he ever fought.

If you couldn't back Norton up with your power, he was difficult to beat. Norton by a close decision, but it's not something that I would bet on.Last edited by JAB5239; 11-21-2010, 05:20 PM.
