You could say the same about Buster Douglas. Same talent level, same eating and training habits.

Maybe. But I just don't see Douglas with the same finishing ability or killer instinct that Bowe had. He certainly would be remembered with much more fondness had he taken the sport more seriously though. Him I consider wasted talent.

Which I wouldn't argue with, although I think Buster had a better jab and better footwork. They weren't clones, but both had great natural talent and neither made the most of it.

he had all the talent to dominate the heavyweight division but he had no discipline at all.

              Douglas - Holyfield
              Bowe - Holyfield I
              Bowe - Holyfield II
              Bowe - Holyfield III

              Bowe is much better IMO.

Yeah, Bowe-Holyfield was the first Rid**** Bowe I ever watched and I was shocked that he wasn't rated as a top 5 heavyweight. Awesome, awesome performance. Power, pretty good handspeed, body punching, even some pretty slick head movement for a guy his size. Too bad he couldn't keep it up.

No one's fault but his own.

That's true. Just like Bowe's prime lasting about 24 hours.

I wouldn't argue that with either of you. Had he been able to stay disciplined though we might be talking about him as a top 10 heavyweight instead of a top 20, no?
