I agree. The only thing that might make me favor Langford slightly more is his ability to separate an opponent from his senses.

I have Greb at #4 with Langford above him at #2. After SRR, the next three on my list (Langford, Armstrong and Greb) are pretty interchangeable. I certainly wouldn't argue against him being rated the second-best fighter ever.

I reckon Greb as he managed to snatch a victory from a much bigger Gene Tunney.

In saying that... had Langford been able to properly prepare for every fight rather than take anything that's going then we could of seen thee best ever never mind one of.

Nothing much...When Greb was fighting at middle Sam was fighting at heavy. Already past his prime and old but still dangerous. No point in Sam fighting Greb. And anyways even the old blind sam Ko'd eventual Greb conqueror Tiger Flowers.

Actually Sam was atleast 200 pounds around 1917 and past that when Greb seriosuly became a contender. I think you will insult Greb's intelligence if you think that he will fight a 200 pound heavy to prove what? Later when Sam became blind it would still have been useless. if Greb lost it would have been tragedy for him, but no point beating a blind man. And if Greb was fool enough to give a 200 pound heavy a shot for his middle weight championship , he might be like ... Nevermind fact is Greb did not fight Sam, and vice versa because there was no need to.
