you seem shocked by this statement, pernell uses his jab and his side to side movements to litterly land punches at will, pernell was not a knockout artist so the fight does go the distance with pernell winning the majority of rounds

Jesus, if you thought Leonard would piss him off and make him quit, imagine Pernell.

At 135, it doesn't look anything like the Leonard fight, but it's a very close one and I could understand Whitaker winning. I think out of most LW's, Whitaker probably has one of the best chances to win. I don't think it's at all certain though. Duran's speed, stamina and own boxing skills and defence would give Whitaker trouble too.

It's not like Chavez fight at all, because I know that's how most would think of it, but Duran is a different beats altogether from Chavez and a completely different fighter, not to mention at his best at 135.

I don't know. Too hard to predict for me.

Too hard for me to pick.

I would bet on duran if only for the fact he was a total bulldozer at lightweight. I wouldt be too shocked if Sweet Pea would be able to do it.

For the Record I have duran a few spots higher than Pernell at 135 ranking.

If you rank Duran higher at 135 you are right. Personally I am a tad dissapointed at some of Ring's latest statements...However having said that its not that they are making any grave error here. I personally believe that Duran would beaten Whitaker .

i dunno, i think they were both great. i'd probably favour whitaker

with duran quitting.. u dunno, they say he had stomach problems.. i dont think he quit cos of been clowned, nah..

i heard that leonard n don king made the ring size from 20 x 20 to 24 x 24 and this made duran really angry

Yeah comparing Duran to Chavez is pretty ignorant...Duran made Chavez look like a stiff with his aggression, probably hit alot harder too.
