MT had great speed but he also lacked the discipline or durability to beat Duran. Even in the 2nd Chavez fight he foolishly couldn't resist going toe to toe with JCC in RD6, and paid the price when he was stopped two rounds later.
I thought he also fought the wrong game plan against Terry Norris, he had to get on his bike more often and use more angles, he couldn't stay in the pocket with Norris who finished within 4 rds.Comment

Duran would break him down. Taylor would have his moments considering how fast and fluid his combinations were, but Duran wasn't as easy to hit as Chavez.
I think the fight would be competitive early on, but I see Taylor breaking down in about 4 rounds sooner than the Chavez fight.

Yeah, I agree. Taylor just got into it too much. He couldn't resist fighting, getting in there and going for it. That's suicide against the best version of Duran. Taylor, for all his skill, speed etc was also actually quite easy to hit. A bit too easy for him to last the distance against Duran. It would be one hell of a fight though and very exciting. Taylor also didn't hit hard enough to phase Duran when he did land.Comment
