I think he would get on Tyson's nerves I don't know about the other boxer's.
Most of the historians who covered the fight say that Liston was definitely rattled by ALi before he even stepped in the ring with him. Liston thought ALi was f#cking crazy, and no opponent had ever shown that type of courage/confidence.

watch the first minute of this video...

Ali had no business beating guys like Sonny Liston or George Foreman, but with his mouth he was able to get them to doubt themselves. Do you think he could defeat any of the above fighters psycologically?

Mentality has and always be more significant than the fight itself. Through out history this has always proven true. Getting the upper hand psychologically, whether it be pre fight hype, the weigh in or the stare down is a HUGE contributing factor as to how a fight may turn out. Whether Ali had any business or not is irrelevant.....he did it. Its all part of the game.

This is a bait thread which is leading to you claiming Lewis would beat Muhammad Ali which is laughable, Lewis had to have 30 police officers cordon off the ring so that Mike Tyson could not eye-ball him during the intro's and to stop him having diarrhea.. Lewis was a bum who Muhammad Ali would treat & beat in the same way he did Richard Dunn.

Your obviously a British Boxer nuthugger as your photo of boxing scene shows only british fighters yet i am English and can assure you that those boxers are nothing other than mediocre journeymen who's only way of getting a cheap title was by avoiding every top fighter in the world their entire career's

Why is it he doesn't even show Fitzsimmons or Jimmy Wilde or Ted Kid Lewis? They are much better British fighters and actually have a claim of being in the top 20 at least in my opinion.

Liston was always vulnerable to guys like Ali...In the Machen thread I already wrote how Eddie avoided Liston all the fight now read this:-

"Ingemar shrugged and turned to watch Liston against Eddie Machen in a fight that went a full 12 rounds because Liston never could catch up. (Ingemar had knocked Machen out in one round to win his successful chance at Patterson's title.) Liston, doggedly stomping after Machen, seldom could get within serious punching distance of him. And that explained why Ingemar thought the movie projector was faulty. It wasn't the projector. It was Liston.

"My God, he is slow," Ingemar said, as Machen easily evaded Liston time after time.

Johansson studied in silence as Liston advanced and Machen backed, as Liston missed with left hooks and fell short with straight rights, none of which made him look more than ordinary. Then Liston landed one of his very impressive jabs, the kind that has been described as the best since Joe Louis.

"He has a very long left," Ingemar said approvingly. "It is long and strong."

" Machen is running all the time," he continued, as the second round progressed much like the first. "It would be better if Machen attacked, because he is the fastest one. To attack is the best guard. As soon as Machen does something, like when he starts a combination, it goes through. But he has no—how would you say it?—desire?"

That was the word. Machen's main desire seemed to be for survival."

Ali did everything Machen did , had better legs and handspeed plus he came out to win...Sonny will always have trouble with guys like Ali

You have it backwards. Lennox's biggest worry was Tyson doing something to get out of the fight. He knew Tyson was scared and would try sabotaging the bout by biting his leg in press conferences and what not....

But thisthread is about Ali not Lennox. I believe that Ali's mind games only work on KO artists like Foreman and Liston but are pretty useless against patient boxers like Norton and you-know-who.

I think Dempsey, Marciano, Mike Tyson and Vitali fall victim to the mind games

Lennox, Wladimir and Evander are unphased.

Joe Louis is a toss up.

The one guy who Ali would really find difficult to unphase is Joe Louis, all those tauntings and barbs won't work on Joe but might have just the opposite effect. Joe was cool calculating and controlled. Dempsey was always an attacker if Ali made him mad it wouldn't do much diff...Jack will still try to take Ali's head off, mind games are for minds, they depend on the individuals mind not his style. Joe Frazier was a puncher and when Ali riled him up in 1971 it didn't quite work out. Walcott said a lot of **** about the Rock and look what it earned him.

Lol, owned by the power of knowledge.

This guys Modern British fighter nut-hugging is driving me crazy.
As stated above, he could at least nut-hug someone decent such as Wilde, Fitzsimmons, Ted Kid Lewis or someone along those lines.
