Its true..you ar right and Patterson's wrists and hands were never like a heavies. Not even his overall build. But I agree with Poet, he's damn right Floyd at Light heavy would have been an ATG for sure.

I would have loved to see it. In truth, even at Heavyweight he could have been one of the greats if it wasn't for his chin and his reach. Floyd had everything else you could want in a Heavyweight. At Light-Heavyweight those two physical disadvantages effectively disappear.

People are quick to mention Floyd's chin but as prone as he was to getting knocked down, he was prone to getting back up and unleashing hell in return, in his prime days.

Agreed. I've always been ore impressed with a fighter who suffers a knock down but is able to get up, remain focused and fight back than a fighter who can take a big punch but has no more answers after being hurt.

That's always the big stigma against Lennox Lewis. He was only dropped twice in a 14 year career. But both times that he was the fight was over (although I thought the McCall fight was stopped too quickly).

I'd have said that Akinwande knocked him down but it wasn't called. But agreed, Lennox will ever have to live with his inability to continue after both McCall and Rahman knockdowns. Both good punches mind!

                    I'm sure Patterson said.
"I was the heavyweight who got knocked down the most but, also the heavyweight who got up the most"

You are right mate!!! It must be noted though he did not meet some very good contenders of that era, Williams,Machen,Folley. His chin would have been better tested by these guys...But he had resolve to win, which allowed him to get up from all those knockdowns...and he had a great leaping left hook...the one against Johannson was a goodie.
