Hate to say this, but Ali, that is CLAY, despite being taken by most people today as an intelligent and noble man was everything but that in those days. He was just plain ****** and full of anger, destructive anger. He only made things worse when he could make them a lot better. He could've acted a lot better on the behalf of Malcolm X. That IS sad indeed, very sad. He is haunted rightfully by his actions today.

Why are you always on a witch hunt against ali? Is it because he is a better man inside and outside of the ring than Mike Tyson, your idol?
Look, Ali was not perfect at all ( no man is ). He grew up in segregated Kentucky, probably one of the most racist places you could live in. The **** he saw as a young boy made him distrust most white people. The black ******s were bad people, and Ali was wrong for going with them, and ali was very wrong about some of the things he said about whites but you have to understand how he grew up. You're trying to paint him as a racist but people who knew Ali in real life would tell you he loved EVERY race.
As far as Malcom X? Elijah muhammad? **** em both.

Ali never had a problem with white people to quote Larry Holmes, "Ali always treated the white people in his life better than the black people."
On topic:
This thread has nothing to do with racism, it is about what Ali was prepared to do in order to get in with the ******s

In other words Malcolm from his personal observations of life realised the nation was wrong, while Ali merely followed the Nation as it changed to a different religion
Off Topic:
Wallace saw that their was no real future in sticking to the old ways membership had nosedived after Malcolm X's death and with inter group squabbles and wholesale corruption the groups membership went from around 40K to 20K. So it was really time for a change. Farrakhan is now realising the same thing, his groups memberships has been falling for years and he is now toying with the idea of become a Sunni ****** as wellLast edited by Toney616; 04-03-2011, 06:25 AM.

After the death of Elijah Muhammad, his son Wallace took over and decided to move the nation towards Sunni Islam and changed the name of the group in 1975. Ali went along with it, even Farrakhan did. But after three years Farrakhan was upset that he wasnt the leader and preffered the more radical form of the religion, so he broke away and formed his own Nation of Islam
