I also have ticket stubs that go back to the 1800's, including Jack Dempsey, Sugar Ray Robinson, Benny Leonard, Johnny Dundee, Firpo/Willard, etc.

Poster of the 1st Dempsey/Tunney bout. Record books as far back as 1905, All the Ring Record Books, Everlast, Post. The very 1st Ring Magazine (1922), and most of all the rest. Also many boxing books.

I also have the World Championship Belts from the WBC, WBA, WBO and the IBF. I also have a remake of the John L. Sullivan Belt.

Lots of pictures and articles of old-time boxers. 1,000 of tapes of boxing matches.

I also have the telegram that was sent to Mike Jacobs, thanking him Joe Louis and Buddy Baer, for the Navy Relief Fund.

    There's a lot more too!
Great stuff! Can I ask how you store your Ring mags?

My one concern is that it is a replica. There is nothing about it that makes me believe it is one but when I factor in that these posters sell in the thousands I got it for a fraction of the price it does make me wonder.

I was wondering if any posters here knew anything about how to judge a piece like this or of a service in the NYC area that can grade such a piece?
Im not saying it is a replica, but the Louis Schmeling fight poster has been widely reproduced. I have seen loads of them on my travels that cost next to nothing.

I think you can tell by the poster size and paper quality, but im not sure how.

hopefully yours is not, and you got yourself a bargain.

Collect anything I can really, mostly interested in anything Jofre, recently got a fight poster of his vs Herman Marques and some short highlight footage of his fights with Godfrey Stevens and Juan Lopez.
I'm convinced that his fights with Saldivar (Another favourite of mine) and Jose Legra are out there somewhere and have been searching for quite a long time.

Your collection sounds amazing! I work for the History channel....we have a new show called Collector's Cafe and were actually looking for an avid boxing memorabilia collector to feature on the show. I hope it's okay that I'm writing on here but I'd love to talk to you about your collection! cburzynski@thinkfactorymedia.com.

Collectors have to be good custodians of perishable and degradable materials. I am a poor custodian. Not too long ago I had the origianl article from our local newspaper of the first Marciano/Walcott fight. I gave it to someone more responsible.

If you're doing a show on collectors, you should get in touch with Pat Contri; He's on facebook and has his own site, Pat The NES Punk, the guy has loads of video games, even the rare ones.

And for all the rest of you guys that post here, if you think boxing posters and autographed items are expensive, try saving up enough money to afford a 1990 Nintendo World Championships cartridge in good condition. You'd pretty much have to forgo buying a new car to afford one.
