  • The greatest defensive fighter?

I think it's Willie Pep an All Tiem Great featherweight with inbelievable defense despite the fact he one a round without throwing a punch myth is in fact FALSE he was still an unbelievable defensive master.
    Your thoughts?

Nicolino Locche, Willie Pep, Pernell Whitaker.

Pick Em', imo they're the 3 greatest defensive boxers, couldn't choose one over the other.

You guys don't think Benitez fits in amongst these 3?

The usual suspects have already been mentioned.

Let me add Mayweather to the list.

Roy Jones Jr was almost untouchable in his prime, so his name should be up there.

I wouldn't call Byrd great defensively, but he was effective at stating out of harms way.

I would put Benitez just a notch below. No disrespect to Benitez but IMO Pep, Locche, and Whitaker are the top 3 and Benitez leads the next batch of great defensive fighters.

At his peak, yes. But by the time he got to 154 his defensive skills had been badly eroded. Overall he is a pretty sad story, as I understand that he has a childlike mentality now.
