  • The best jab in boxing history?

I think Liston has the best jab with his unreal reach and every jab seemed to have power and destructive force behind it unlike any other fighter.
    What do you think?

A long, devastating jab, no doubt. But it didn't have the speed and accuracy of a Holmes jab.

That was my other option I was considering but chose Liston because of the destructive power and very good accuracy but, Holmes wins in the speed category so it is a tough one.

Ike Quartey, Sonny Liston, Larry Holmes, Tommy Hearns, Pernell Whitaker, Benny Leonard.

Pick Em', they all have outstanding jabs.

There have been a lot of great jabs over the years, obviously, but for me, when it was on song, Lennox Lewis' jab was as good as most others. For range, power and accuracy it was pretty awesome when he was focussed. Years ago he beat Gary Mason using pretty much just the jab, beat him up over six or seven rounds with it, Mason was never the same again. Indeed, he ultimately retired with eye trouble. Lewis had an awesome jab. But I think that the truth is a number of guys should get the credit for having joint-best jab, I just want to add a name to the list you others have come up with.

Good question. There have been so many great jabs in the history of the sport. The following are my favorites:

                Thomas Hearns
                Larry Holmes

I always found it hard to pick between these two. They could dominate a fight by the jab alone.

Rid**** Bowe never gets any credit for his jab, when it was on, it as good as anyones. Holmes has the greatest jab of any HW, it was mastered to perfection.

There are actually other weight classes besides heavyweight.

My pick is Salvador Sanchez, with SRL a close second.
