That's true but at the time he fought Frazier and Foreman those skills have diminished greatly and when you look at the longevity of his career, it's unheard of to take the amount of shots he did and fight for so long.

His current condition is a testament to his chin being too good for his own health.

I agree with what your saying but what like Jab, his reflexes helped him "prepare" so to say. But Ali was also knocked down by frazier's wreckingball of a hook and Coopers. But Cooper fight was a very young and green Ali. But chuvalo was never off his feet even though he faced many of the same fighters.

Your arguement has a very valid case and point to it so I can understand where your coming from.

How can you even consider Muhammad Ali??????

Battling Nelson, James Toney and Bernard Hopkins comes to mind. Shane Mosley also.

i voted la motta because of his pressure style his chin would have to stand up to the hardest of clean punchers, to his credit he actually achieved longevity which shows how good his chin was!!

i think greb and hagler both had great chins
i would not include ali yes he took punishment from foreman but he has been badly stunned and has been hurt numerous times put him with a classical left hooker and see how good his chin was then

Here's a name I haven't seen mentioned yet: Tex Cobb. No real boxing abilities but practically impossible to hurt. Just an unreal chin.

                I'd say LaMotta.
