  • Where Do You Rank Calzaghe On Your h2h ATG List

At 168 H2H I dont know if I see Cal losing to anyone in his prime. With his speed, his toughness, and when he had some pop in his punches (won 21 of his first 22 fights by KO) that h2h at 168 I dont think anyone could take him. Obviously prime Jones would be the fight we'd all want to see. And anyone coulda walked away from that, but I think Cal would have realized Jones couldnt hurt him and would have done much of the same stuff. In order to take Cal out, I think someone would have to be relentless, fearless. Theyd have to swarm him, otherwise, if he gets comfortable he is just too good.

Prime Eubank, RJJ, Hopkins, Toney and Benn all beat Calzaghe.

Also out of the current super six AA and Froch have a chance of KOing Calzaghe cant see them outboxing him. Direll would beat Calzaghe and Ward has a chance also.

no. No way on Eubank. Cal was the superior boxer. Cal was always faster than Eubank and Cal's style would have swarmed Eubank. Benn? you really think Benn would beat Calzaghe? Uhh...based on what?

        I already mentioned rjj

I think joe was less prime tha bhop when they fought so I think Joe wins easier. Toney? toney would have a hard time in his prime making 168. Cal wouldnt be afraid and sward him.

when you mention AA and Froch i know you have to be joking. How do you know what it takes to KO Cal...he never was KO'ed? Like what are you basing this on. Cal wasnt even knocked down till his mid 30's.

        Direll would beat Calzahge?

Did you just say Calzaghe would realize Prime 168lb Roy Jones couldn't hurt him?

Cal would walk through the super 6 right now. He beat a prime Kessler who is going to do fairly well in the 6. Cal was past it when he fought kessler, and Kesslers a little past it now. Direll beating cal has to be a joke right?

no disrespect to prime RJJ, but I dont think RJJ in his prime had devastating knock out ability at 168. They say power is one of the last things to go and in their fight at a higher weight, Cal took Roys punches and smiled. I admit RJJ was shot, but I dont think his power was that far off. Im not saying Jones was bad at all, I just never saw him as a guy youd really worry about taking a shot from. He could hurt you, but Calzaghe in his prime never went down, there are other fighters at that weight I think hed fear more. Its more of a barrage of punches or being caught off balance by a RJJ left hook or something that Id worry about as a Calzaghe fan.

He doesn't need devastating knockout ability to hurt someone.

He Broke Virgil Hills RIB at LHW with a body shot.

I don't wanna hear he couldn't hurt Calzaghe. That's insane.

Don't even bring up the Calzaghe fight. Roy hadn't beat an elite fighter in 7 years. His speed was gone, his reflexes were gone, his trigger was gone.

I admit RJJ was shot, but I dont think his power was that far off.
                  It was.

Really, he should be worried about anything Roy would throw in his prime.

Actually to quote Joe Calzaghe himself.

"I could probably give Jones a tough fight, probably the best fight he's ever had," said Calzaghe. "But I know my capabilities and unless I got paid the crown ***els I wouldn't want to risk it."

Even Joe knew an ass beating was in store if took the fight.
