The guy had some natural ability... I think if he hadn't put on so much worthless muscle he could have gone a lot further. What say you guys?

Maybe. His stamina would of definately improved thats for sure.

Off Topic:Tim Witherspoon asked Bruno to come to america with him and train after their fight, but Bruno declined.

His stamina may have improved, but his punch power may have been reduced by a different training regime. His basic boxing ability was quite good, but is head movement was far too static.

He always would have had a less than reliable chin.....or a tendency to freeze when caught by the big punches.

But he was a good heavyweight who I enjoyed watching.

        -His defence was poor
-His stamina was pretty bad as well, I would say he was good for around 6 rounds
-To slow as well, tyson's speed gave him fits in both fights

Yea I remember the interview after Tyson II, 'Hes on you like a harbour shark Mr Darke'.

Tyson was the only fighter to be ahead of Bruno at either time of stoppage.

He did of course last 12 rounds with McCall, the last round was tough for him though!

Bruno did something he never used to do when hurt/tired, he clinched.

I remember seeing him soon afterwards on his bus going around London. I hope he enjoyed those months as a world champion

True. How his trainers never got on to his case about that earlier is beyond me!

Good for Frank though, I hope he really enjoyed those few months.

I read his Autobiography, he bought the ring he beat McCall in and started to sleep in it at night. It was downhill from there on

I've actually got a few Bruno biographies....I think three but might be wrong, a couple on his career and one on his breakdown possibly. I think 'Zero to Hero' was my favorite. All great reads.

I cant think of a fighter more........'deserving' is the wrong word, so is 'worthy' of a world title. Lets just say no one begrudged him his moment after all those failed attempts. Good guy, it takes alot of heart to face a heavy handed, solid chinned brute like McCall after all those previous stoppages in title challenges.

I was happy for him as well for finally getting a belt. He says in his book that he got a shot only on the condition that he makes his next defence against Tyson.

on topic: he was way to bulky in the Tyson and McCall fights, he should of cut back with all of that weight lifting early in his career. Surely his team must of noticed that he was fading in the last rounds of sparring or something like that .

Sometimes I wonder if he used roids or something, to get that big
