One thing I love about this list ys each fighters resume. These HOF fighters all fought the best fighters of their times. Arguello's 130 pound reign, Sanchez's 126 pound reign, and Napoles' 147 pound reign were in particular very excellent. I would put Arguello at number one but I can't argue if Duran is number one in many experts opinion. His 135 pound reign was as dominant as any fighter's in the history of boxing. Tremendous list

Unfortunately it didn't. I was curious about the same thing and have no problem with any of those 3 finding a way into the top 10.

Gun to my head, I would stay with the top 3 because Duran was so much better at cutting the ring off. Duran was able to wear down movers like Viruet, Lampkin, Bizzaro and Fernadez, while Arguello lost to boxers like Marcel and Fernandez, while Pryor when he boxed totally frustrated Arguello. Alexis is my favorite Latin fighter of all time, but he's at best the 3rd greatest Latin fighter of all time.

Arguello is also one of my all time favs but I couldn't justify putting him ahead of Duran. P4p I think he probably ranks between 20 and 30 all time or somewhere near there without actually making a list up. Whats your opinion about that my friend?

I would put Arguello around 25 also. What impressed me the most about Arguello was that he never panicked during a fight, no matter how badly he was doing. In his 2nd fight against Pryor, what was really amazing was that every time Arguello went down, he would win the next round. Of course, he finally took the 10 count in round 10, for he knew he was too far behind to win the fight. His boxing IQ was phenomenal, and his punching power is top 10 all time. Who could forget him knocking out a legit 147 pound fighter in Kevin Rooney with one spectacular right hand. Arguello's biggest flaw was dealing with movers. It is why Floyd Mayweather would have beaten him at 130, 135 and/or 140 had they fought in the same era. The greatest thing one can say about Alexis is that regardless where he fought, the fans gave him his just due. He ko'd Escalera in P.R. and defeated Watt in the U.K., yet the fans gave cheered him after he beat their hometown hero. Another fighter would have been hit with beer bottles.

Arguello was loved by all because he was such a sportsman. Whether it was losing to Pryor or beating Mancini, Alexis was the epitome of class. I personally wish more fighters were like him today.

Yes, he was the ultimate sportsman. After losing to Vilomar Fernandez, he raised Vilomar's hand and gave him a hug. After both brutal Escalera fights, they hugged each other. After destroying Rooney, he carefully picked him up off the floor to see if he was alright. He consoled Mancini and his fighter after he gave Ray such a brutal beating.
                    Some other classy fighters:

                    Mike McCallum
                    Chris Byrd
                    Andre Ward
                    Glen Johnson
                    Vernon Forrest
                    **** Tiger
