Im almost certain his name was Don Steele.

Of course Mogens Palle had made him up to be a serious challenge to Nielsen(Most decent HW could be a challenge/beat Nielsen i know) so me and my grandfather was glued to the screen in excitement(i was just a kid back then..) and the guy was just the embodiment of a tomato can lol.

If i remenber correctly, three specific Nielsen fights have been under serious suspecion with some evidence to back it up.

However i do think the match GreatA is reffering to is Nielsens match vs a guy named Thomas Williams.

Williams later admittet(and was convicted i think) that he was paid by Palle to throw the fight

Don Steele was hilarious. He went something like 41-0 with all of his wins by KO, but every time I saw him he could hardly even box. His KO loss to Ray Mercer is one of the most brutal I've seen.

Excuse me I confused Mercer's KO of Jeff Pegues with the Don Steele KO.

You heard of him?? really?? lol

I must have been around 10 or something back then, and like i said the fight was hyped a lot, especially because of his record, and i just remember thinking: "Man, Brian is a monster, nobody can beat him"

now just look what Mogens Palle did to the young people in Denmark back then lol

Larry got beat fair and square. But a prime Larry would win by k.o in the first three rounds. Brian Nielsen was no more then a contender. And man, am I glad that he didn't beat Rocky Marcianos record for most undefeated fights (is it 47 in the HW division?).
