  • Joe Frazier ducked who?

a member has been spewing out rubbish for some time now that Joe Frazier ducked the big punchers of his era.. its now time that we discussed this topic and sort out once and for all who it was if any who Joe Frazier ducked...

I just find it hard to believe because he fought THE puncher at that time George Foreman. Not to mention he had the heart & will of a champion, never quit. So if he already fought THE punch of that 70's era in Foreman and that type of attitude, it just blows my mind that he would duck any C-B level guys he would most likely take out.

The 2 people that troll kept mentioning was Ron Lyle & Leotis Martin.

Leotis Martin started losing before Frazier was even champion. GTFO of here.

Ron Lyle? Jerry Ellis lasted the distance with him, and the a year later got stopped by Frazier. Not to mention Lyle got stopped by Muhammad Ali who's not even a puncher at all. Imagine Frazier pounding at his body, he's stop him.

it's completely ridiculous that ****** wants to say dumb stuff like that. His only evidence is Foreman knocked him down so many times. GEORGE FREAKIN FOREMAN. One of, if not the hardest puncher around that time. And his chins weak for going down to him? GTFO of here. That's like saying somebody has a weak chin just because Mike Tyson was knocking them down. Totally ridiculous.

He didn't duck them either. It's not his fault they couldn't keep winning to fight him.

Leotis Martin was in the same camp as Joe Frazier with both being trained by Yank Durham.. Martin was nothing but `Dog-Meat`for Frazier... in 1967 Martin got knocked out of the 8 man elimination tournament in the 1st round getting knocked out by Jimmy Ellis he then lost to a couple of journeymen before beating Thad Spencer then lost every round in a fight with Oscar Bonavena... Jimmy Ellis won the 8 man tourament and a shot at unifying the heavyweight title against Joe Frazier who butchered Ellis in 5 rounds, Frazier had also beaten Bonavena twice by the time he became unified champion.

Ron Lyle was never in a position to fight Joe Frazier, Lyle only made his pro debut in April 1971 six weeks after Frazier won "Fight of the Century" against Muhammad Ali, Lyle suffered his first pro defeat 18 months later when Jerry Quarry easily beat him.. There was never a call for Frazier to fight Martin or Lyle with both only ever being fringe contenders.

Snopkins isn't even worth starting a thread over. It's obvious he's full of **** and sometimes I think he says thinks just to get this kind of attention. Frazier fought the who's who and faced the best fighters of his era.

It's not Joe's fault that Lyle never put himself in a position to where he deserved a fight with Joe.

If I had wanted to debate a child, then I would have registered over at cbeebies.Grow a few chest hairs and start actually learning about the sport and then perhaps we could discuss such a topic.
