This is a very good question, tough one too!

I know who the top 10 boxers are..
    I know who 1 and 2 are..

But 10-3 are always shuffling, depending how I feel that day.

Lennox, Marciano, Tyson, Foreman, Dempsey, Johnson and Holmes all have their strengths and weaknesses, but none of them are the total package like Joe Louis.

Tyson & Dempsey are joined at the hip. If you judge them by there careers they are ranked low, but if you factor in star power and entertainment, both can be top 5.

Foreman and Marciano are polar opposites. One of these guys will be #3 on my list and the other will be #6. If I put an emphasis on record Marciano is ranked higher, If I put an emphasis on level of competition, Foreman blows him out of the water because George was competitive in arguably the two best eras of boxing: 70's and 90's.

So there is no right or wrong way to judge those 6 or 7 guys. They are all ATG, but none come even close to the big two.

Wow, why do you think Dempsey is better than Louis?

Louis has the much greater title reign, beat the better fighter and was more dominanat, and was more skilled and punched harder.

I just don't see how a argument can be made for Dempsey being a greater HW than Louis.
