Still a lie, but using a floating term like prime gives you wiggle room. Whatever. Sonny wrote this.

Another bold faced lie. A little hyperbole can be funny sometimes, but now you guys are just making stuff up to defame his legacy.

A Dempsey detractor does not need a lie to discredit him. We all know Jack never defended his title against a single black contender. No hyperbole needed there, just truth.
Lewis DID fight more white-skinned fighters than black skinned fighters, i suggest you take a look at Lewis record and count the number of white-skinned fighters he fought.

and YES all the Top Black Fighters was at the Top Of there Game which is why Lewis avoided them: Foreman, Moorer, Hide, Holmes, Byrd, Witherspoon, Tyson 96, Bowe 93 & 95, Jones Jr.

so once again you are incorrect.

you repeatedly ingnore that Lewis was stripped of his titles for refusing to fight the No1 contenders.. if you want a logical and honest discussion then address the points made.

Dempsey should have Marcianos record if he was exempt from facing an entire portion of contenders. Or he should have at least surpassed Lennox's 14 title defenses.... 7 times is not going to cut it.

There are no coordinated big men that 'resemble' Lennox on Jack's resume but There is a ferocious puncher that 'resembles' Jack on Lennox's resume'

The difference is that Morrison was actually knocking black guys out, and Dempsey never did this in his pro career.
How can you expect to be taken seriously when you make claims like these?

Tommy Morrison a ferocious puncher who resembles Jack?

i put up for you an article by Eric Jorgenson - who said Dempsey used the best black fighters as sparring partners and that they was nothing but `Dog-meat` for Dempsey.

Jack Dempsey was rated as the greatest heavyweight who ever lived by boxing historian and was thought of as the best right up to the late 1960s when the men who seen him fight and rated him so highly had all past away.

its clear to me that you are just a young guy who follows the current boxing scene and knows nothing whatso ever about the great fighters of yesteryear, yet your comments to people who know about those great fighters of yesteryear are ridiculous and make you out to be a clown.. if Michael Bent can destroy Tommy Morrison in the opening round then Jack Dempsey would knock him into the ground like a ****in tent peg.... get real and stop talking out of your arse.

        • Lewis has a solid resume and is up there in the ATG 15 heavyweight rankings. I do agree with Soir who pointed out that both Alis and Holyfields resumes are much better than his, but there is no shame in that.

            .
I think saying all these fighters were at the top of their game in 1993 - 2003 when Lennox had his WBC belt is a stretch.

Foreman was still a tough customer but hardly at the "top of his game",

Holmes was shot in the mid 90's and was a shell of a great champion.

Witherspoon was great in the 80's but his career post 94' is anything but great, saying he was at the top of his game is silly.

Moorer was at the top of his HW game.

Herbie Hide was at the top of his game but Herbie Hide's game wasn't all so great that Lennox would avoid him.

            Lennox avoided Byrd.

Tyson paid Lewis step aside money and got his belt stripped instead of fighting Lewis.

Bowe tossed his belt away instead of fighting Lewis, how did Lewis avoid him when Bowe chucked his belt away?

Lennox only fought once in 2003 when Roy Jones had his belt and that was against Vitali Klitschko, surely fighting Vitali is a tougher fight than a blown up Roy Jones Jr.

Although Lewis did fight most of his big name fights against post prime opponents like you have said before I think your exaggerating heavily on the number of people he avoided.

There is no need to count all 44 fights when we know for a fact that he only fought 7 white guys in his last 30.(Vitali, Morrison, Botha, Golota, McCrory and the post-mccall tune-up) Thats 7 white fights to 23 non-white fights when he was a major contender/champion.

The first 14 Lennox wasnt contending so he couldve fought blue people for all I care. Even if every single one were against white guys(which they werent) its mathematically impossible for him to have fought more white fights than non-white fights.

So basically you lied. If you try to pull the Tua is white-skinned card you will still lose because Lennox debuted against a black guy. Your post was outright slander anyway you look at it.

Whats more, is that Vitali, Morrison and Golota are better than most of the blacks on Bowe, and Tysons resume's. Its not about race, its about fighting the best, regardless of race. Something Dempsey didnt do when he ducked Sam Langford and an entire people.

It was obvious from the start that Sonny and Carlos were full of it when they said Lennox fought more white guys than black guys or Lennox never fought anyone prime. I think they just wanted someone to waste their time and count the age race and records of 41 different people.

Its irrelevant anyways because one of those white guys had just embarrassed their beloved Rid**** Bowe and the other is current WBC Champ of the world.

It puts the writing on the wall.. Skin colour shouldn't be relevent, but it got me going because i was struggling to recollect too many of the white guys he fought..
