You have no idea how to score a fight if you give every close round to the Champion no matter what. Never, ever, ever was anywhere in the rules of the sport.

And yes , I know that even this doesn't count too much as 40 years old for a ring worn midget is a lot.

      (3) Duran was not a natural lightweight by these times and even not in the second leonard fight , unless you consider Delahoya , Mayweather , Mosley and Pacquiao natural lightweights as well.

HW for Toney is much more than LMW for Duran , not a good comparison.

      220/160=1.375 > 1.14 =154/1351

Not to mention James will be outweighed even more against most of the elite HWs , as in HW there is no limit , and in fact James' dry weight percentage is one of the lowest in the HW division.
So it is even worse for James than the calculation above.
      Wrong comparison.
Lawler didnt really stop him. Duran injured his shoulder and retired on the stool. And that Knockout from Tommy hearns...that punch would of knocked anyone out lightheavyweight and under.

Duran had a world class chin.

Sturm vs DLH- DLH got a gift decision

Armstrong vs Garcia- was not a robbery. Armstrong beat Garcia at WW but looked slower at the 2nd fight. They fought in the inside and in the last rounds Garcia made Armstrong miss and landed the more solid punches. I don't think scoring the fight a draw was the reported robbery as some say.
This was not Lewis Vs Holyfield 1 or Whitaker vs Chavez.

        .

I think he meant that the champion should win a close fight even if he is fighting the bigger name guy.

Ie. Pac vs Marquez II. Marquez should have won as it was a close fight but he won and he was the champion. Same with Garcia. Smaller name but he still won a close fight.

It's not so much you just give rounds to the champion. It's more that the champion deserves to win if he bloody wins instead of the bigger name!
