Can anybody make a case as to why Muhammad Ali is sometimes listed as the #1 or #2 GOAT fighter over the likes of SRR and Henry Armstrong?

I have never understood how he could be ranked above Armstrong (who is arguably GOAT) on any list, can anybody shed some light on this for me?

I can't, but then again I don't believe in having Heavyweights on p4p lists.

henry amrstrong is a perfect example of a good old timer who wouldnt even be in the top 10 today....1st of all he fought the same damn way and a great counterpuncher would have a field day with his ass...pacquiao would honestly smoke armstrong ive been saying it for years....with robinson and ali you can picture them embarassing modern day fighters....henry armstrong hellllll no....

You mean "modern" fighters like Aaron Pryor who fought in EXACTLY the same manner as Armstrong?

aaron pryor was 10x faster than armstrong....and no i dont think he fought like armstrong except for the workrate...armstrong did the crackhead movement and walkingforward move which would get him blasted today...pryor is more of a bouncer....

It's pretty clear to me you've watched precious little of Pryor and absolutely nothing of Armstrong if you think Pryor was "10x faster" and Armstrong fought like a "crackhead". Personally I'd say the only crackhead here would be you

Why don't you believe in having heavyweights on P4P lists?

The term P4P is used to judge fighters, regardless of their weight class. And you're basically ignoring a whole division.

well im not really hear to debate with you just prove my point.....pryor was alot faster than armstrong....just look at his combinations....armstrong wouldnt beat prime duran, arguello, pacquiao, pryor, mayweather, mosley, delahoya, etc...meanwhile SRR and ali would beat greats in their weight classes...the great thing about the armstrong myth is his prime is only a good 2-3 year run...

As a general rule I believe the lighter weight classes produce the better fighters. Also, Heavyweights get enough attention as it is from the vast majority of fans who are obsessed with Heavyweights.
