Care to debate the similarities, or have you had enough of me owning you with FACTS?

when Leonard vacated the WBC 168lbs title, In 1990 the vacant belt was won by an Italian named Mauro Galvano, I think that boxer can be considered one of the worst, he was knock out by Nigel Benn in losing his title.

Another worst is a Fil-American Morris East, who, would you believe by the end of 1992, holds the WBA 140lbs title with the best boxers pound for pound, JC Chavez and Whitaker as his counterparts at WBC and IBF.

His borish attitude didn't help. Mostly it was the hype perpetrated by the media and his starstruck fans making him out to be unbeatable the greates Heavyweight to ever walk the planet.....this after I had already analysed the hell out of him and came to the conclusion that the hype didn't add up. For quite a while Tyson was the most overrated fighter who ever breathed: NOT because he wasn't a great fighter, he was. Rather it was because people where making him out to be the GOAT and not just at Heavyweight but P4P as well. A great fighter being portrayed as far greater than he really was. That always sticks in my craw.

                    Thanks for the reply

Ali and those guys were a bit before my time, it was Tyson who made me take notice of the HW division. I could see the cracks starting to show in the Tucker and Thomas fights though. But he was still the most exciting fighter id ever seen up until that point. I knew something was wrong with the Bruno fight, he looked dreadful, I was in shock when I found out that he lost a fight.

In hindsight I realize that he was way overrated, but that's how it always is with exciting punchers. I jumped ship with the Ruddock fight, he was constantly hitting low and on the breaks I cant be a fan of a dirty fighter

Interestingly enough I consider the two Ruddock fights to be his finest efforts. I know what you mean about the cheapshotting though. I've always said that fighter who generate a lot of offense always get overrated and I find it's one of the most consistently accurate axioms in boxing. Just look at Felix Trinidad for instance. I'm old enough to remember George Foreman getting hyped up back in 70s exactly the same way Tyson was in the 80s.
