Throughout Boxing History some Legendary ATG fighters suffered one devastating loss in their career that boxing fans labelled them rubbish because of that defeat... lets take a look at it and see if we can name them:

Michael Spinks 1st round KO to Mike Tyson
Joe Frazier 2nd round stoppage loss to George Foreman
Ken Norton 2nd round KO to George Foreman
Joe Louis 10rd KO loss to Max Schmeling
Muhammad Ali PTS defeat by Ken Norton
Roy Jones KO losses to Tarver, Johnson & Green
Ray Leonard KO loss to Hector Camacho

Only moronic fanboys discredit good fighters for a loss to another good fighter, or for a loss while shot.

Yeah. Guys don't understand that at the top level everyone is experienced, well schooled and tough. Even guys like say Margarito who isn't that technical compared to other guys on his level, would still be considered a competent technician by normal standards.

At such a high level in such a tough sport, nearly anyone can beat anyone, and if a guy is consistently fighting on that level, a loss to another good fighter is not such a big deal. Guys here just don't seem to get that.

The only guy on that list who was considered rubbish after his loss was Spinks and that was because a lot of people only knew of him because of the Tyson fight and knew nothing about his lhw reign.

Don't forget all of the people putting down Roy Jones after the lucky punch by Tarver. And Hatton got **** on after the Mayweather Ko. Cotto also after the Margarito fight.

It wasn't a lucky punch imo, it was a counter punch which Tarver had obviously been practicing in training. Especially after he had watched the success he had landing left hooks during his first fight with Jones

Don't you constantly trash Lewis for being poleaxed by McCall?

Very true. He was a solid Light Heavyweight champion. Went up to Heavyweight and upset Larry Holmes who was trying to match Marciano's 49-0.

Yeah he was scared and was destroyed by Tyson but that doesn't take away what he did for the previous 10 years.
