I would rank Manfredy slightly higher. I think Ward would have or could have been better had he not had so much hand trouble early in his career.

Neither won a world title but I think Manfredy challenging for one three times compared to one time for Ward is very defining. Jmo.

Good topic. Both had decent wins over champions, whether former or whatever, and both challenged for titles but lost in each shot. I would have to rate Manfredy higher though. He just had a few extra solid wins over better guys and the losses were to better fighters too.

Both obviously fought some great opposition but Ward lost to guys that Manfredy would have beat and Manfredy beat guys that Ward would probably have lost to.

Augustus/Ward is just a freakin' incredible fight! How could you not have seen that? Truly one of the greatest fights ever. Just brutal mayhem.
