Foster had a lot of difficulty putting him away and eventually ground him down in 14.. Finnegan incidently, was a southpaw scrapper who didn't hit anywhere near as hard as Moorer. Just a thought....[/COLOR]
Chris Finnegan was pretty good on his day Mickey remember he gave a peak Conteh a bit of trouble too?

Micky you are correct Kevin Finnigan was the better of the two brothers, there biggest foe was "The Bottle" sadly both brothers died due to alchohlism.. Kevin was good enough to give Marvin Hagler his toughest fights (pre-championship) Chris vs Conteh I was a brilliant 15rder for British, Euro & commonwealth titles.. The Finnigans was great fighters in their day and Chris showed his toughness by taking on Bob Foster and stretching him all the way.

As Sonny rightly points out, they liked a skinfull.. They only past away last year.. Can't remember who died first, but the other one followed within weeks, or was it a week?.. Had to be the top shelf, Guinness is good for you!

yes Chris & Conteh had 2 fights but their 1st fight was a `Classic`a very good friend of mine who is a boxing writer for a weekly publication often kept me informed of how The Finnigans was doing, he said the last time he seen Chris he was unrecognisable and looked like a tramp, it was at a boxing awards evening and Chris was very drunk knocking bottles of wine over and breaking glasses etc.

Guinness is good for you but only the Bottled Guinness (original) not draught Guinness which is made from chemicals and tastes nothing like the real stuff in the bottle.. Bottled Guinness is `real ale`- draught is creamy piss

Too true, but that bottled stuff gives me indigestion lol. Mackeson's the one, but have you seen the price of that ****!?

Shame about the brothers.. They both, like myself, have the Irish gene which is often referred to as 'curse of the alcoholics'
Half the reason i sold the bar, is because my drinking was getting out of control..

Seems like Chris did an 'Oliver Reed' at the awards ceremony then..
Lol at Olly Reed though!.. Great story was when he was wasted at a film premier and staggered into the actor, Patrick Mower, at the bar.. Reed looked him in the eye, and came out with, "Carpentier isn't it?" and sposhed him one in the face!

my friend told me, he was once giving Kevin Finnigan a lift home after Kevin had been on a 3 day bender, Kevin was seeing demons and jumped out of his car at traffic lights and was very nearly killed by a bus coming in the opposite direction.. yes it must have been the irish in them.
