I agree, the gay pride ribbons are very fitting for you.

My criticism of ole "smokey" Joe is related to your false assumption that I'm a Euro-Hugger how exactly? Didn't exactly think that through did you,****** Carlos?

Now remind us,how was it foreman was beaten in Zaire again?

Walked the dogs today? I hear that you made the effort but collapsed on the pavement screaming that your muscles were in pain.

I personally don't get very emotionally attached to fighters for a number of reasons. On principle my emotional attachment is to the sport of boxing itself and I don't believe any fighter is bigger than the sport: The sport of boxing 1st, particular fighters 2nd. I also find that allowing emotional considerations for fighters clouds the judgement and makes it impossible to be objective when evaluating them which does a diservice to the sport in my view.

Letting Holyfield fight Tyson first pretty much sealed Lewis' fate.

Holyfield got credit for beating Tyson, atleast in the eyes of the general public. I heard many casual Boxing fans promising that Tyson would completely blow Holyfield away. The sense among many of them was that Mike Tyson was still, in more ways than not, "Mike Tyson", given that his only loss was the "fluke" loss to Buster Douglas.

If Lewis had gotten Tyson before Holyfield, he would have a far different reputation.

By the way, to all of the people saying Lewis dosen't get respect in America because he is not American...ever heard of Manny Pacquiao? Roberto Duran? Julio Ceasar Chavez?

One of the reasons Lewis dosen't get respect is because people don't like their champs getting koed in their primes by fighters who aren't highest tier household name Boxers. If that is going to happen, a fighter should have a significant period of unchallenged dominance first.

very good post and correct in what you say, no matter how much you like or dislike Lennox Lewis it cannot be erased that he got poleaxed by two mediocre journeymen and those two journeymen never before or after in their careers replicated that kind of punch to any other of their opponents, which leaves a huge black mark next to Lewis and more so the opponents he fought during his career. Lennox was a world champion in 1992 yet during the next 12yrs he never fought the Americans who was at the top of their game and also held world titles in the division, Lennox claim that they all avoided him simply cannot be taken seriously after his two KO losses to Journeymen.
