Su****ious yes, but nothing that would convict in a court of law. Like I said, we have plenty of reasons to be su****ious and that's a cloud that will always hang over him.

2000-08-12 221 ...against John Ruiz the most Holyfield has ever weighed in at.

Only a 11 pound gain in 12 years.
SI.com: Has Holyfield's name come up before?

Llosa/Wertheim: He has never tested positive. However Dr. Margaret Goodman, chairman of the medical advisory board of Nevada Athletic Commission, says that as early as 1994, when Holyfield fought Michael Moorer and suffered heart problems, the medical arm of the Commission questioned Holyfield about possible HGH use. "There were questions [because] the abnormalities Evander had with his heart were findings that could have been consistent with growth hormone use. The problem was there was no test and Evander denied any use of growth hormone."

This is turning out to be a great discussion.

I remember all the WWF guys I liked to watch, retiring then suffering from heart problems. For Evander's sake I hope we are wrong.

I think Holyfield has probably been using steroids since before the Douglas fight, but I would be surprised if he used them in the CW division.

I think it's likely that he didn't start using steroids until he went to train with Lee Haney the steroid-using bodybuilding champ, who helped him put on muscle to move up to heavyweight.

Ok I said that in my first post but I just showed that he's only had one massive gain which is not at all abnormal in boxing.
He's 6'2, chances are he wasn't going to be 177 his whole life no matter what.

The man obviously likes to lift weights and is known for not doing any roadwork 'he only does wind sprints' so it is also very possible for him to gain and maintain muscle.

Look at Hopkins, he's able to jump from 160 his whole life and now is talking about going heavy in a much shorter time span.

                Sadly you might be right.
Guess the problem is that in say sprinting, if you know that you are the fastest but can't get a medal because you know the others are using drugs then the temptation to take them yourself must be pretty overwhelming.

On the other side of the coin I'm sure that boxers are taking all sorts of stuff to take weight off too

He doesn't do roadwork? No wonder he fades in fights

Hopkins at mw rehydrated back up to 172, I think he walks into the ring around 185 lbs now.

I dont think Hopkins was ever serious about going up to HW, imo.

I think people are more concerned with the 33 pound gain from 84 to 88, he wasn't cutting weight to make 177.

He did work with strength and diet coaches for a while to prepare him for the jump to HW though.
