    Leonard-Mayweather

    Leonard pre-retina.

My money is on Leonard, but with doubts.

Leonard beat both Benitez and Hearns, both who were far better welters than Floyd has proven to be.

Floyd doesn't have the power to keep Ray away and pot shotting won't cut the mustard against Leonard. Ray is to fast (compared to every other Floyd opponent), to strong, to skilled and to tough both mentally and physically. Leonard by convincing UD.

Lalonde was I believe the last fight that SRL was tip-top.

Obviously we'd be comparing a welterweight Leonard since Floyd has only had 1 fight above 147. I think Ray would beat him at 154 also and anything above since I don't believe, and Floyd has never proven he could carry that weight and be effective. Leonard was just the superior fighter in my opinion.

Tough fight, I edge Leonard......but he wouldn't look great in the fight. Workrate and the edge in speed being the factors.

Floyd would make Leonard look bad and give him a tough fight, people underestimate how good Floyd really is, plus he lifts to the level of his opponent always.

Close fight, Leonard might edge it based on workrate and aggression, but I have no doubt that Floyd would mix it with him and give him a hard fight.

If Leonard could get by the likes of Hagler, Hearns and Duran - Then he would find a way to get passed Mayweather as well.

Mayweather is not a true WW in my mind. Leonard is too big for little Floyd and although Floyd makes him miss a ton of punches (Think Benitez fight) he still overwhelms a trigger shy Floyd and gets a clean UD.
