Pep was NOT in his prime against Saddler. In fact he didn't fight him till after the plane crash that almost took his life.

from the few fights of pep i saw,he looked the same in all of them.sandler just jumped all over him.he looked scared to even hit sandler back.but i wont dispute that he couldve had some real bad damage done in that accident

Saddler was a beast at that time and all their fights were marred by dirty tactics on both sides. Saddler could very well have had Pep's number at anytime they fought, but there is little doubt that pre plane crash Pep would have fared much better.
