when Hamed started managing his own career it all started to go downhill from there. He hated roadwork and did less and less as his career went on and relied on his power too much. That said in my opinion for what he achieved he should make it into the hall of fame. As an all time great? I dont think so..

        ..
I read in a magazine once Manny Steward said Hamed was the hardest puncher p4p he ever held mitts for ....you disagree with Manny then !?
For my money Hameds power is something that is not or never should be in question !

He's a borderline Hall of Famer. Massive power and good speed, but no technical skill. Who's his best win? Kevin Kelley? That's not the resume of an all time great, if you ask me. Also, ATG's don't get humiliated the first time the step in the ring with a real fighter. Compounding that is his early retirement. Talent wise, definitely an ATG. Accomplishment wise, not even close.

I hate the **** by the way but theres no denying he was shot to **** it was evident in fights leading up to Barrera.
I had it a 10-2 beatdown. I'm not sure which fight you watched but it was very clear that Hamed was totally outmatched by a much better fighter.

5 years earlier it may have been a different kind of fight but there's no way he was ever beating Barrera or Morales.

That's why he never fought them.

Totally agree. Very good fighter who spent his time dominating mediocre fighters. When he stepped in against a real A-lister, he got schooled. It wasn't even close...Hamed spent the entire night trying to land one huge punch to end it. That's not how an all time great wins.

It's an interesting debate. I enjoyed watching Naseem dominate the lower divisions with his sensational style. He was no doubt great for boxing.

But he was poor in the Barrera fight and the most disappointing thing of all was that he never came back and challenged again at the highest level, despite still being young. He never showed that he could learn from his mistakes (a similar example could be Ricky Hatton, or to a lesser extent Mike Tyson). He had no fundamentals and Barrera ripped his heart out that night.

Nas was humble in defeat. He said something like 'great fighters lose and come back'.......which was exactly right. He never came back, because he wasn't great.

Not an ATG, but on an ATG featherweight list I can't see how he could be left off.

He still had a great career.
