Marciano is overrated - agree or disagree

His record is made up of bums, average contenders and old champions.

The Louis fight was pretty even, going into the final round. If Louis had been in his prime, he would've knocked Marciano out.

He was losing against Walcott and one lucky punch saved him.

He retired at just the right time, because Patterson would've beaten him.

No he wasn't. He fought and never lost, he is an atg and will be remembered forever as a legend in boxing.

Doesn't matter how the fight with Walcott was going. He landed a punch and the fight ended with Walcott being the loser.

no lucky punch you dork....he also destroyed walcott in the rematch....marciano is better than lizzard charles moore and walcott....just not better than louis as he was far removed from his prime....

The man is an ATG and was a great fighter, the punch on Walcott was far from lucky, he set it up perfect.

I wouldn't say Calzaghe sucks. He's pretty boring but he doesn't suck.

              Rocky was awesome to watch.

I won't get pulled into a Calzaghe debate, so I'll leave it at that.

As for Marciano, being exciting doesn't automatically make you a great fighter. He lacks the resume and skills.

6 fights against all time greats is not a padded record to me.

I'm not a Marciano expert or a big fan and I don't know too much about him but common sense tells me that when almost all you hear about a fighter is them being overrated then chances are they aren't overrated. Also couldn't you make the case for the first leg of Ali's career being against mostly average competition and past-it contenders and champions?

Also Marciano's right hand that KO'd Walcott was anything but a lucky punch, it was a short, well timed right hand that beat Walcott to the punch.
