Nice list, though in a p4p sense, I think Marciano deserves a mention. Like Paulie said, Langford had some good pop for his size, enough to compete with boxers much larger than him. Mugabe had overrated power IMO.

So what have we actually seen with regard to Sam Langford's
one shot stopping power?..
I'll argue his resume and the fact that he had very good power, all day long.. I'll even go as far as to say that either he or Harry Greb had the greatest resume of all time, but we're not sure about his one shot stopping power, or are we?.. Well I'm not..

I watched all of John Mugabe's fights, and when he poleaxed somebody, it was nearly always with one shot.. He had 14 first round KO's in 50 fights, where as Langford had 15 in 267 fights, so does anyone see where i'm coming from here?..

Rocky was indeed a devastating puncher, but how many of his opponents fell to one early shot?
Rocky's thing was strength and stamina, to break opponents down before KOing them..
You could watch a Rocky fight and know roughly when the KO was coming as his opponent started to wilt under the pressure of his non-stop 2 fisted barrages. (with the exception of Walcott 2, of course)
One shot stopping power, is when guys get hit once, and they're out b4 they hit the floor, ie: the fighter doing it, just suddenly presses the button..
Funnily enough, Walcott unchracteristicaly, did it to Charles.. '

You might be right about Marciano, but I think his FW reach had more to do with him not getting clean shots on their chin until later in the fight.

Langford would have more early stoppages if he was always fighting guys his size.

Mugabe took out a lot of tomato cans early, but what elite competition did he fight besides Hagler?

Yeah Bob Foster had scary power, it was a shame it didn't carry to HW though. Jackson, Hearns are good picks. Tyson to me used his speed, accuracy and combinations to get guys stunned and then out of there, maybe not quite the one punch power of some of these other guys.

I agree, the quality of Mugabe's early opponents were'nt up to much, but give him a tomato can, and he tended to bat em further with one hit than most..
