Outside of heavyweight I don't think anybody had better one punch power than Bob Foster. His ko's of Quarry and Tiger were frightening.

Over all I'd go with Shavers.

P4p.....lot of names that could be debated.

Yeah, p4p it's got to be Jackson. Out of the Heavy's it's Shavers.

Another tricky one, cos i take it we're talking about 'one shot' killing power here.. Former lightweight champ Lew Jenkins is a name that always gets over-looked, he wasn't the best defensive fighter but my God, could he ****!.. Most of his 47KO's were of the 'one shot' variety, and fighters literally layed starched and motionless at his feet..

Names to be considered should include:-

              Jackson
              McClellan
              Joe Louis
              Shavers
              Ketchell
              Hearns
              Mugabe
              Foster
              Robinson
              Liston

As with other posters, JJ was the 1st name on my mind's recollections, but i've seen a lot more of him than some of the fighters who i've suggested..

Wayne Alexander lol, Jeeez, now that boy can really ****! (at British level) and another one was welterweight, Mickey Hughes, serious one shot power!.. Does anyone on here remember his fight with Gary Jacobs ? who also took Whitaker the distance..

I feel sick to my stomach, that Sam Langford's name hasn't been mentioned in this thread.

                Paulie

Nice list, though in a p4p sense, I think Marciano deserves a mention. Like Paulie said, Langford had some good pop for his size, enough to compete with boxers much larger than him. Mugabe had overrated power IMO.
