Has anyone read "The fearless Harry Greb"? Im torn between buying this or "Joe Gans: a biography of the first African American boxing champion". Im leaning toward the Greb book because he really fascinates me, but the Gans book looks good too. Anybody got any input?

Haven't read either book, but I will go and find both. Since you are a huge fan, why not just buy both? By the way, did you ever read "Four Kings," or Teddy Atlas' bio? Two must reads!!!!!!

For both books plus shipping its probably gonna cost upwards of 80 bucks. I haven't been able to find either of them at the reasonable prices I usually get.

Was actually thinking of getting Atlas' book to last night. I've heard great things about it.

IMO, among the best boxing bios ever written. On par with Thomas hauser's book on Ali and Dave Anderson's book on SRR.

Im convinced! I think I'll get the Atlas and Greb books, than the Gans book down the line. Thanks bro.

I've heard that the Greb book would have had some room to improve. Not quite as insightful as it could be. Didn't the author of the Joe Gans book post here a while ago? Perhaps he can tell you more about it.
