Ring magazine did an article matching up Mayweather vs. some of the big name P4P greats and gave some predictions.

I think it was a pretty good assessment overall.

Pick were reasonable. I think a case could be made for Gavilan beating Floyd too, but it would be apples and oranges.

Not really liking the analysis on these fights. And watching a few videos on youtube is not nearly enough to say that men like Tommy Ryan, Barbados Joe Walcott would have stood no chance.

Well no offence intended, but what other means besides visual footage can we use to see how those guys would stack up with Floyd?

Written accounts are all well and good, but when it comes down to it they fall behind actual video evidence, when a coach wants to analyse an opponent for his fighter he doesn't read a newspaper account of him does he?

By that I thought you meant that watching the footage of these men wasn't enough, but what you meant was that watching footage of other men from their era wasn't enough to say they had no chance, my mistake

In a hypothetical match up, why would they put Armstrong in with the WW version of Floyd, putting him at a serious weight disadvantage, instead of the 130/135 pound version?

And where is the Tommy Hearns match up?
