Thats it, some people like to say stuff like that for attention and to get debates started. Hagler had one of the best chins ever!

Listen, I'm not trying to get any debates started but it was either here or on ********Boxing that I read it somewhere.

I know that Hagler had one of the best, if not THE best chins in boxing. If I wanted to start a debate, I would say something restarted like any heavyweight of this era would beat Ali.

People question all sorts of strange things on here. SRR is overrated, Duran overrated, Joe Louis overrated, Joe Frazier lacks heart, Muhammad Ali would get killed by either Klitschko, Marciano overrated, Hagler overrated and on and on and on. Sometimes the posters have a good argument but most of the time its just silliness. Hagler's chin being questioned is like questioning Foreman's punching power

Only time I saw Marvin close to being hurt was Rd 1 of Hagler Hearns, Tommy lined him up and cracked him with a big right that twisted Marvin around, and then a sharp right uppercut as they exchanged and Marvin was stunned and fell forward into Tommy, and recovered a few moments later.

Hearns and 'Cyclone' Hart came the closest to hurting Hagler although he wasn't close to being knocked out. He was also supposedly in some trouble against Kevin Finnegan and early in his career against Dornell Wigfall.

I don't get it. He's never been stopped or anything, why do some people question his chin?

I've followed the sport everyday for the last 30 years, and have never once, heard anyone ever question Haglers chin..
Take a look at the "top 10 greatest chins" thread.. He's in pretty much every list..

I won't say he was hurt but there were 2 occassions in the first Antuofermo fight where he was buzzed a little but not hurt. Howard Cosell did flat out say "he hurt hagler" but it was the usual cosell being over dramatic.

Hagler only defended his title against lighter weight fighters or guys who was not renowned power punchers with the exception of Juan"the hammer"Roldan

                    Duran - lightweight
                    Hearns - welterweight
                    Leonard - welterweight
                    Antuofermo - light-middleweight
                    Mugabi - light-middleweight
