  • Fighters who reached 100 fights without being KOD?

The whole Monzon vs Duran thing made me think of fighters who fought atleast 100 fights without getting KOD. Monzon fought 100 times without getting KOD and got KD once in his 100th fight. Off the top of my head; i can think of Sugar Ray Robinson, Willie Pepp, Niccolino Loche, and Benny Lynch of guys who reached 100 fights without getting KOD. Of course, the last four guys mentioned eventually did get KOD after their 100th fight. As a side note, Julio Cesar Chavez came close; he got KOD by DLH in his 99th fight in 1996.

Who are some other fighters that reached their 100th fight without getting KOD?

Young Stribling. He made it to over 250. I think I counted 268.

Young Stribling definitely one of the greatest fighters that never won a championship. His only KOD was Schmelling when he way past his prime. I remember the story how Stribling died and bumped into his own wife in the hospital before passing away. I rated Stribling #81 on my P4P list and Gavilan #37.

"Slapsie" Maxie Rosenbloom went 95 fights before getting stopped, but he was stopped only twice in 275 fights.

              Jimmy Wilde went 96 fights.

SRR was the first who came to mind. I thought JCC might have made it but you pointed out otherwise....You got Pep, hmm I thought Archie Moore but he made it to his 74th...

Just remembered Lou Ambers did it and Pedro Montanez came close to about 98.

Edit this post to add Packey Mcfarland. He had many no contests and did have over 100 fights. I think ***** adding Stribling reminded me of those great fighters who never won the title.
