I also want to mention Gerald McClellan whose life truly was ruined and his team definitely was to blame for it as well.
Great thread Mickey. You seem to have great sources at hand, and perhaps you can add some stuff for McClellan.

Blood Mitch Green was always claming that Don King under paid him and messed him about on numerous occasions.

IMO it was the fighters believing the ****e that King was telling them... i will give you $5 million yet they only get paid $3 million and any other promoter was only willing to pay them $2 million...King may have been bad for the fighters but he was great for the fans watching on tv....

some on this topic are talking as if it was themselves who have been `ripped off` by King, that they know him personally...one guy is even claiming King makes him physically sick?...
If you are referring to my comment..I didnt say "physically" sick, I said sick!..and if you are saying some are talking as if they themselves have been ripped off by him personally..you ever think that maybe they have..or maybe they have a father who was ripped off by him...maybe you should think things through before you comment next time..we are all entitled to our opinion..and just like we are disgusted by his actions..you can admire him for your own selfishness of getting a cheap priced value of fights on TV..deal?

King is a snake. The man used to run ******** houses and shot two men dead, I'm not saying that automatically makes him bad, he did his time, but from that background, going into promotions....It was no suprise he was so dodgy and underhanded.

His association with the WBC and Sulaiman is a joke, Sulaiman is actually worse than King. King for all his faults did end up putting on some great fights over the years, Sulaiman is just useless, acting as King's puppet and doing nothing for the sport.

Just looked up his background. He first shot a man dead for trying to rob his ******** house, which was ruled justifiable homicide, and then secondly in 1966 he stomped to death an employee over $600....That's $600 he killed a man over.

According to Tyson, he'd kill his mother for a dollar.

Not sure if I still got it, but I use to have a documentary on King and it talks about a time in Cleveland when he first started promoting and he held a show where all the proceeds were supposed to go to an area hospital. If I remember correctly King swindled many of the doctors out of money, had a successful show and pocketed all buy a fraction of the money. something along those lines anyway. Its been awhile since I've watched it so my memory is hazy.

Sam Garrett was the second person to be killed by Don King..
Garrett was a slightly built 135lb man who had only 1 kidney & was suffering from TB.. King pistol whipped & kicked him to death in the street over a $600 ******** debt.. King still had the gun in his hand when Police arrived..
He got the charges dropped to manslsughter, and only served 3 years & 11 months..
Before this, he'd shot & killed Hillary Brown, who had allegedly tried to rob one of Kings ******** shops.. He pleaded self defense, and the jury believed and aquitted him of any wrong doing..
