Perhaps the most underrated fighter since 1989 was Mark Johnson. He was without peer for 7 years. 12-1-1 in world title fights. He never got Ricardo Lopez in the ring, I think that was due to weight issues, but man you would have had to like Too Sharp's chances if that one had happened. Fights with Carbajal and Tapia never happened either. Johnson claims Top Rank turned those fights down. Those would have been some fantastic fights. Shame.

When you think about his skill level you realize that he was one of the most talented fighters the lower weights have seen in quite some time. He was a slick technician with a good degree of punching power. He could school you over the distance (Fernando Montiel) or blast you out of there in one round (Arthur Johnson).

Historically we know that he was the first black flyweight champion...certainly worth noting. The guy should be in the hall of fame. He's very deserving in my opinion.

Erik Morales is very underrated. He holds wins over Pacquiao, Barrera, Junior Jones, Daniel Zaragoza.
