    If Douglas hadn't gotten up

From the KD in the 8th round vs Tyson, and Tyson was awarded a KO win. How much longer would Mike have reigned for and would he have been dethroned?

He would have fought Holyfield immediately after wouldn't he? Because I remember reading that fight was set as long as Mike iced Douglas, but the subsequent upset screwed all that up.

I don't think it would have been much longer, though I do believe he would have been more competitive with Holyfield then, than he was with Douglas or his two subsequent fights with Evander. Mikes personal life was falling apart and in my opinion his was never that mentally strong. It would have only been a matter of time before someone stood up to him and beat him. Especially after Buster showed everybody the blue print on how not to be intimidated.

Without Rooney, he wasn't the same fighter. A prime Holyfield would've most likely beaten Tyson in the same manner that he did in 1996.

he would have been dethroned in his next fight against holyfield. Holyfield was the number 1 contender at the time

If he had fought Holyfield afterwards like he was supposed to, he would've lost. So not long.

I think he would have lost to Holyfield, who was just all wrong for Tyson.

If he would of won the fight with Buster then I think he would of been higher on the ATG HW list, he was getting the beaten badly.

But like others I think he would of lost to Evander, Evander wasnt as huge as he'd become when Tyson did face him, but he was still tough as hell.

That is how I see it. You could see he wasn't the same fighter. This was obvious when Greg Page floored him while sparring for the Douglas fight. But most of us ignored the signs. I know I did.
