Roberto Duran is the most obvious one that springs to my mind. He often used to have some issues early on, which was usually due to his insanity I think, but then as the fight wore on he would settle down into a rhythm and just get better and better. By the championship rounds he was really raring on all cylinders. It wasn't just after four rounds he would get into it, it often wasn't until the tenth or so that he was at his best. Incredible.
