Excellent point, poet. I think the biggest crime to the fans was the cancellation of the November 1991 fight with Holyfield. Two great fighters in their prime. It would have been much better than their 2 encounters 5 years later. I still think Evander wins, but not before having to go through hell

Totally agree re the blessed 0, you learn more from a defeat than a victory. Mind a lot of these fighters don't have much else apart from the 0

Compared to other Heavyweight it was weak although I do think it was stronger than today's division. Other than Berbick I wouldn't liken to bums but they weren't class-A opposition either. I'd also point out that Spinks was and ATG LIGHT-Heavyweight but no better than ordinary at Heavyweight while Holmes was past-prime and inactive when Tyson fought him. Certainly Tucker, Bruno, Ruddock, and Thomas were decent fighters.

The "0" is everything.....along with PPV buys and lots of "bling-bling".

The only bit of luck in Tysons career was him stumbling across a man called Bobby Stewart, the rest was all blood, sweat and tears!
