That aside, you're digging up posts from other forums now? Forums you don't even address me on? Random posts no less. Sad. What did that contribute to the topic at hand? Nothing.

Shavers damn near took Lyle out, there is footage of this one on youtube, it's awesome. Shavers was one of the hardest hitters ever, I have no doubt about that. He got caught bad by Quarry and Quarry had some skill and was young then. It does kinda suck that shavers never won the title but he had his place in that era and I think that is pretty cool, he was always the threatening heavy puncher. You gotta agree that if Shavers Landed one more good punch on Holmes in that 2nd fight, Holmes would have been out. Shavers just needed to calm down and aim for one good one but he gassed out flailing away. It's all good though, Ernie was a bad ass, and he fought in an awesome era of Heavyweights, always a threat.

Floyd Patterson was the best boxer.
George Foreman was the hardest puncher.
But the Roughest & the Toughest was Joe Frazier.
Shavers not Foreman
Foley not Patterson
Oh, and he showed all the signs of a frightened Rabbit against Liston didn't he?
