If well trained Tyson met the Pepe Correa trained Lewis in the late 80s, Mike would have knocked him out. Lennox didn't have as good a defense and didn't know how to use his weight and size advantage like the Steward trained version.
Lewis didn't even start his career until 89. He would have gotten ****ed up and the amateur version of Tyson is hardly the prime Mike. Tyson got better in the pros without a doubt that **** is ignorant.
Obviously Mike was not in his prime when he lost to Lewis.
He WAS however in his prime when he lost cleanly to Buster Douglas.
Douglas beat Tyson using a good Jab, a Solid Defence and not being Scared stiff of Tyson, Lewis has better attributes to beat Tyson than Douglas did.
With Mike's power, anything is possible but if my life depends on it, prime/prime i'm taking the more rounded fighter, and that is Lewis
Physically he was in his prime at that stage of his career, but his fighting style was inferior to what it was in the late 80s. Also in the Douglass fight specifically, he was out of shape. It's plain as day. Holyfield beat a better version of Tyson than Douglass did.

Tyson fans, much like Tyson are always full of excuses
Tyson fans, much like Tyson are always full of excuses
why excuses?
it wasnt like douglas had an easy night with tyson..
he was knocked down by an uppercut and then the belt saved his ass because the ref counted slow.
still doesnt change the fact that mike fought bad that night and got his ass kicked.
joe louis got KOd by max schmelling.
ali was nearly losing to cooper also when he was young.
lennox got his ass kicked within 2 rounds by mccall ..
everyone can lose.
mike lost just once in his prime in 41 fights.
40 wins 36 ****ing KOs.
he would give lennox more troubles than some ppl think.
he had the most explosive punch in the HW-history.
220 pounds and just 5*10" but was moving and hitting faster than any HW did after him.
i dont care what wannabe experts say, mike wasnt just a media-hype, he was a great fighter and one of the best for sure.
his prime was short, but who gives a f***, pre-jail tyson would beat lennox, i would bet my money on that.

correct, i go along with you here... These Lewis nuthuggers are crazy if they think Lewis was anything other than a 1rd KO for pre1997 Tyson... Williams, Lewis & McBride beat a shell of Mike Tyson
