Anyway, he didn’t even get in the HOF on the first ballot, it’s very rare that you can say that about an ATG in fact I don’t think there is an example where you can.
Why is that? Because his career wasn’t good enough.

The order would be;
Roy Jones
Distant second - Hopkins
Very distant third - Toney

Toney couldn't even win a World Title at LHW unlike Hopkins who did multiple times as an underdog.

Hopkins career is much better than Toney’s. For starters he didn’t lose to journeyman multiple times in his prime years like Toney did.
Secondly, Hopkins actually beat top level fighters in dominant fashion unlike Toney who never did that.

Oh yeah
There is zero evidence that Toney would âmurderâ anyone on the level of even Middleweight versions of Trinidad or De La Hoya. Zero. So thatâs that one.

Put Toney in W trinidad or DLH its murder, he'd be too strong, too slick. one punch Trinidad ya right no chance. He'd stand right in front of him and beat on him.Last edited by them_apples; 08-12-2025, 09:15 PM.
