Actually I have to admit- Jake Pual is good for boxing.

The Brothers Paul are the only ones from that generation who are championing the prowess of Boxing over UFC.

There are probably quite a few Gen Z who never watched boxing until the Pauls fought, but had seen several UFC cards before that.

I think prize fighting is in a low state and needs a superstar HW to get things going again.

I think the likes of Mayweather, Hopkins, and the Brothers K put the country to sleep.

Boxing may be too gentlemanly and formalized for our public's taste buds hereafter. Boxing literally stands somewhere between a totally formalized non-contact Karate tournament and true MMA fighting.

Lay subtle complexities aside. Complexity is not what action mongers (fight fans) crave anyway. There is just as much complexity in MMA and more excitement by stopwatch because of MMA's vaster range of techniques. It is rare that dead action on the floor is prolonged. They won't let 'em. It must be a century ago since boxing introduced or appropriated any new technique not known before. MMA opened a whole new panoply, the complete gamut of techniques, for the thirsty monger that are pretty exciting, such as the spinning back fist, making the narrow boxing spectrum a mere subset of it. Universal set vs subset of universal set. No logical way to win. Would boxing ever incorporate something like that?

No. Why not? It would reverse tradition, vary from the past too much. Whole new sport. Blah, blah, blah. So truth be told, it is loyalist boxing fans who prevent movement forward. But they are right, perhaps. Why disjoint a compact, continuous path in history to become a minutely larger subset of MMA, which already includes everything shy of actual street fighting, is the question?

          I went with Jones.

If he retires in 2002, he goes down in history as a top 5 fighter in history

But he didn't retire, he got colded several times instead. Now he couldn't make top 20. He squandered a hella legacy with greed for more.

I affirmed his point. He can roll his fckin' eyes at that all he wants. He is still taken a lot more seriously than a 90's IQ mouth breather like yourself. An entire list of synonyms for halfwit is all you deserve painted on you face.
