I think he was robbed because Douglas was down for about 14 seconds. The ref gave him a slow count. It would have been one of the greatest comebacks of all time.

There is on YouTube a split screen presentation of the referee counting over both fighters. The timing is identical.
The only difference is that Douglas rises clear eyed and Tyson wobbles

The Nevada Rules states directly that the referee's count is official but also suggests that the time-keeper is the official count until the referee "picks up the count." The referee is expected to pick up the count, not start from "one."
MQB Rules
4. If either man falls through weakness or otherwise, he must get up unassisted, 10 seconds to be allowed him to do so, the other man meanwhile to return to his corner, and when the fallen man is on his legs the round is to be resumed and continued until the three minutes have expired. If one man fails to come to the scratch in the 10 seconds allowed, it shall be in the power of the referee to give his award in favour of the other man.
Nevada Unarmed Combat Rules: Boxing
Rule NRS 467.030
1. When an unarmed combatant is knocked down, the referee shall order the opponent to retire to the farthest neutral corner of the ring, by pointing to the corner, and shall immediately begin the count over the unarmed combatant who is down. The referee shall audibly announce the passing of the seconds, accompanying the count with motions of his or her arm, with the downward motion indicating the end of each second.
2. The timekeeper, by effective signaling, shall give the referee the correct 1-second interval for the count. The referee’s count is the official count. Once the referee picks up the count from the timekeeper, the timekeeper shall cease counting.

The top and bottom of it is, not only was Tyson knocked out, he was completely outboxed for the entire fight, against a guy who is at best B-level. As the Billy Ocean song goes "When the going gets tough, Mike gets going, when the going gets rough, Tyson gets gone." Well, that's how I remember that song anyway. Nash out - His Majesty

Douglas was never a viable contender for him until King and Givens and her witchy mother and Missy Desiree got their hooks into him so King could take over his $50mil retirement account...Boxing History 101 curated just for Nashysan...follow the $$$...yeah!!!
