I couldn't stand him for a long time until he and his career matured. Just the opposite for Ray after he became a miserable opportunist and ducker.
Yeah! Tommy Hearns was a guy easy to love. You knew he was always giving it his all.

SRL always came across as a guy, when shaking his hand and admiring his golden smile, maybe you should keep your other hand on your wallet.

    [EDIT]

One night at a fight, SRL was there. They had him at a table on a lifted platform surrounded by velvet ropes and security.

At a different fight, but same venue, I sat next to Alexus Arguello.

Yeah on trflection hated is too strong a word. I did not mean the fans I meant certain boxing writers.

WWE must be part of UFC's retirement package for their warriors.

It’s the Mayweather effect. Seek low-risk/high-reward fights by hyping B-level opponents, catching big names on their way up or down, securing all advantages, and employing savvy marketing and public relations teams in partnership with shady networks. Preserve the undefeated record at all costs while hinging your legacy on being undefeated. Today we have Tank using the same blueprint along with Shakur and Haney to an extent. The latter two are like watching paint dry, just like Floyd.

If you guys want to talk about boxers with a timid approach, who didn't give their all in the ring, then you need to study what went on back in the ND days, where many boxers did as little as possible. And by this I mean just enough to avoid being thrown out for lack of effort!
