Ok so is #2 the same as #1 to you?

You said he was P4P #1. That was a lie. James Toney was never P4P #1, ever.

Also, Pernell Whitaker was P4P #1 at that time, not Roy Jones.

Get a clue, you don’t have one. You’re way out of your depth.

Gtfoh. Depending on who you talked to it was either Jones Toney or Whitaker.

You sitting here trying to paint a James Toney is garbage picture, when he was at the least the #3 p4p fighter in the world when he fought Roy Jones.

He was absolutely THE guy at 168

I tell you, Toney must have porked this guy's wife or something

Erm no, it was Pernell Whitaker that was P4P #1. From 1993-1995 it was Pernell Whitaker. Nobody else.

Never once painted that picture actually. That Toney is “garbage”. You just lied and said he was P4P #1 when he was never, ever P4P #1 in his career. So you were corrected accordingly.

Can you just go ahead and name one thing I’ve said in this thread that isn’t a fact? Go ahead.

I don’t know if you meant to repeat the same thing again there but, no, Pernell Whitaker was P4P #1. Not Roy Jones and Not James Toney.

Before Whitaker, it was Julio Cesar Chavez, and after Whitaker, it was Roy Jones.

James Toney, never P4P #1. Not then, and not ever. So you saying he was P4P #1 a lie. Just accept that you lied and move on.

And why does James Toney P4P ranking even matter in this case? It doesn’t change the fact that he was embarrassed by Roy Jones for 12 rounds straight. Despite you lying about him being P4P #1 or not.

Again, never once painted James Toney as “garbage”.

What have I said in this thread that isn’t a fact? Go ahead and list them.

                Background

                [edit]

In September 1994, promoter Bob Arum officially announced the highly anticipated title fight between undefeated fighters James Toney and Roy Jones Jr.[2] Toney came into the fight as the IBF super middleweight champion, having won the title on February 13, 1993, from Iran Barkley and having since successfully defended the title three times. Jones, the reigning IBF middleweight champion since defeating Bernard Hopkins on May 22, 1993, had defended the middleweight belt only once before vacating the title in order to move up to the super middleweight division and challenge Toney.

The men were considered to be two of the top fighters in the sport.[3] Toney was ranked number two in the pound-for-pound rankings, while Jones was number three. Only then-WBC welterweight champion Pernell Whitaker was ranked ahead of them.

You trying to make Toney out to be some scrub that couldn't box.

Are you legitimately retarded? Are you not reading what you’re posting?

                  Most notably this part;

Jones_Jr.#cite_note-3"][3][/URL][/SUP] Toney was ranked number two in the pound-for-pound rankings, while Jones was number three. Only then-WBC welterweight champion Pernell Whitaker was ranked ahead of them.

Your own source has just clearly stated that Pernell Whitaker was P4P #1, which he was. That is not up for debate. He was P4P #1, that’s an objective fact.

James Toney, was not P4P #1 and never was P4P #1 at any point of this career. You saying he was, was a lie. Why can’t you accept that you lied about that and move on?

Looky here. According to you James Toney was an amatuer, listed here he is p4p #2, which means if somebody had him #1 it wouldn't be a stretch now would it.

                    Insert more excuses here:

When did I ever say James Toney was an amateur? You’re just making things up. Never once said that.

List excuses for what? YOU lied and said he was P4P #1. No one else, just you. When he in fact wasn’t, and never was P4P #1. Why can’t you just stand corrected and accept that you flat out lied about that?
